“We think that truthfulness is dramatic and compelling so we try to write songs that are truthful. Often, when I was younger, I was throwing stones at the enemy, you know. As I got older, I realized that the enemy was a lot closer to home in my own heart and the hypocrisy of my own heart so the songs started to turn more on us and different themes”.
